Allison is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist who is passionate about sensory processing, iLs and the Safe and Sound Protocol.
Allison is a skilled and thoughtful Occupational Therapist with a career dedicated to paediatrics. She is passionate about sensory processing, sound programs such as iLs and the Safe and Sound Protocol, nervous system health, trauma-informed care and continues to develop her skills in these areas.
Allison joined the Family Connection’s team in August of 2022 all the way from Seattle, Washington, USA. She completed her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at Dominican University of California in 2018 and began working in private practice in Woodinville, Washington. Allison is now a registered Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA).
She has experience working with children who have physical and intellectual disabilities, sensory processing difficulties, Autism, Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD and Dyspraxia as well as difficulties with routine activities such as meal time, feeding and sleep challenges. She has completed further training in the iLs and SSP programs. Allison is family focused in her approach to therapy, valuing the involvement of all significant members in the child’s life.
As a child Allison would go to work with her mother, a paediatric Occupational Therapist any chance that she could get, which has inspired her to become an Occupational Therapist.
